Privacy notice
Last updated 20 October 2026
Mazbut runs the ordering pages of restaurants, the marketplace and customer accounts. This notice says what we keep about you when you order, why, who sees it, and how to get a copy or have it deleted, as Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (No. 151 of 2020) requires.
What we keep
- Your name and phone number, and your delivery address and location if you give them.
- Your orders: what you ordered, when, the total and how you paid. Card details go straight to Paymob; Mazbut never sees or keeps them.
- Your account, if you make one: your phone, name, email if you add it, and the loyalty points each restaurant gave you.
- If a shop or restaurant lets you buy on account (pay later): your credit limit there, what you owe, and each sale, payment and refund on that account, with who at the shop recorded it.
- Reviews you write.
- Offers you agreed to: from which restaurant (or from Mazbut), the email you gave for them, when you agreed and confirmed, and when you stopped.
Why
To pass your order to the restaurant and deliver it, to let the restaurant and its driver reach you about it, to send you sign-in codes, to keep your points, and to help you when you contact us. We do not sell your data.
Offers
You get offers only if you ask: by ticking Send me offers when you order from a restaurant (offers from that restaurant only), or by turning on offers from Mazbut in your account. An email address gets offers only after you confirm it from the one email we send to ask. A restaurant chooses who gets an offer from what you ordered from it (for example, customers who ordered in the last month); it never sees your email. Mazbut sends offers only to people who turned on Mazbut's own, never to a restaurant's customers. Every offer has a link to stop; you can also stop each one in your account. We keep the record of what you agreed to and when you stopped, as proof that you agreed.
Who sees it
- The restaurant you order from, and for a delivery its driver or delivery company (your name, phone and address).
- Paymob, if you pay online. WhatsApp (Meta), if the restaurant sends order updates or we send your sign-in code by WhatsApp.
- The Mazbut support team, only to help you or the restaurant.
How long
Orders are part of the restaurant's sales records and stay as long as the law requires it to keep them. Sign-in codes expire within minutes. What you owe on account stays with the shop as its record of the debt until it is paid, and with its sales records after that. Your account stays until you delete it.
Your rights
- See and copy what we keep: Download my data in your account.
- Correct it: change your name or email in your account.
- Delete it: Delete my account in your account. Your past orders stay with the restaurants that served you, no longer linked to you. To be removed from a restaurant's own customer list, ask that restaurant.
- Ask us anything about your data, or object to how it is used: contact the Mazbut team. You can also complain to Egypt's Personal Data Protection Center.
Your browser
The pages keep your sign-in, language and cart on your device. One cookie remembers, for a day, that you came from the marketplace, so the restaurant pays the marketplace its commission.
Restaurants are responsible for the data of their own customers and staff that they keep in Mazbut; Mazbut keeps it for them.
